Christmas 2023 spirit week is right around the corner. Since Student Council has announced the daily themes, it’s time to start getting creative.
Spirit week starts on Monday, December 18th, with the theme “Night Before Christmas.” This is a time to break out your coziest clothes. Matching pajamas are always an option if you want to team up with a friend.
Tuesday the 19th we are donning red and green for Shop With a Buckskin. Shop with a Buckskin is a National Honor Society event that supports young students in the community. For more information, look out for an upcoming article in the Valley Voice.
Wednesday the 20th is “Winter Wonderland.” The school should look like snow, so dress in white and blue for a snow storm. Maybe dressing like a winter wonderland will get us snow for Christmas and the rest of the holiday season!
Thursday the 21st has the theme of “ugly sweaters and socks.” To make the most of this day, throw on your ugliest Christmas sweater and then pair it with some even uglier Christmas socks.
Finally, Friday the 22nd is “Holiday Movies – Dress as a Movie Character.” From the Grinch to Buddy the Elf, from Rudolph to Ebenezer Scrooge, the possibilities are endless.
Friday will also feature another beloved CV tradition – “drink of the season.” The POWER and SADD clubs work together to organize this event. This year, drink of the season will take place over the lunch periods. Students will be invited to head down to the Rill gym to enjoy some festive drinks and sweet treats.
Now, you can’t forget about Puffles the elf, Conestoga Valley High School’s version of “Elf on a Shelf.” Next week, Puffles will be hidden around the school. The first person who finds Puffles and brings the elf to Mr. Shenk will earn a gift card. So be on the lookout for your chance to win!
Once spirit week is over we will all have a much-deserved holiday break from December 25 – January 3. The Valley Voice wishes you a very festive and happy week before break and a wonderful holiday season.
