If you came to the Conestoga Valley high school auditorium on the evenings of November 9-12, 2023, you would see another amazing play put on by the drama department. Clue is a murder mystery focused on a mysterious mansion where a group of people are invited and uncover the horrors of the house. The CVHS drama department definitely did justice to this classic story.
The show centers around six guests, all invited to dinner at a mysterious mansion called Hill House. These guests are each given letters from Mr. Boddy, the man who owns the mansion, containing the code names they go by. Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett, Mrs. White Mrs. Peacock and Mr. Green all show up to the mansion, and some seem to know each other but they keep their identities secret and play along with their letter’s commands.
The butler, Wadsworth, shows them around the mansion, and though in the letter the guests were told to kill the butler, through a mix up, the group ends up in a tangle of murders.
The drama department put this show together beautifully, with a two-story set and a talented cast. The show excellently displayed the humorous mystery that is Clue, filled with humor, mystery and excitement.
Senior Avery Hehnly, who played Miss Scarlet, says the cast was created perfectly. “I loved playing Scarlet. She’s so different from me because she’s more confident and promiscuous than I am. It was super fun developing her character and bringing her to life! I love being in (the) cast and I wouldn’t trade this show for a thing.”
Hats off to the cast and crew for creating such a well put-together show and starting off the season well. I am sure many of you are just as excited as I am to see our musical, The Little Mermaid, in the spring!
