With the combination of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Insomniac Games introduces us with arguably one of the most popular games out right now: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This action-adventure video game has shocked the entire planet. It’s a very action packed, entertaining, and exciting game and it’s very clear that players of the game also agree.
Insomniac Games announced the game in 2021 at the Playstation Showcase Event and released the game on September 3rd, 2023. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had a budget of $300 million, making it one of the highest budgets on a video game in history. It sold over 2.5 million copies in 24 hours and sold over 5 million in 11 days. This has made the video game the best selling PS5 exclusive of all time. Shockingly, at The Game Awards, the big game won not a single award, leaving fans extremely mad and confused.
The game opens up with main characters Peter Parker and Miles Morales in an intense fight with large villain Sandman. Something that fans find very exciting and fun are the big fights and conflicts in the game. Some other villains included in the game are Venom, The Lizard, and the main villain, Kraven: a superhuman bounty hunter. One feature that the fans love the most is the symbiote suit that is given to Peter from Harry Osborn, who is Venom in the game, after a bloody battle.
The very popular game is a mixture of both the first and second games in the Spider-Man series: Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game combines both characters and all their features and adds new ones to them as well. The game brings back characters like Harry Osborn, who was introduced in Spider-Man and newly introduced as Venom, and Martin Li, who was also in the first Spider-Man as one of the main villains. The game also keeps in Ganky, a close friend and partner of Miles Morales, and Rio Morales, Miles’s mother. The new game gives people a new and fresh feeling with all of the new villains and a little bit of nostalgia with some old characters.
One big detail that people who played the game loved is the graphics of the game. The game is on PlayStation 5, which runs on 120 fps, meaning that the game can run smoother and clearer. Every detail from the design of the characters to the water is drawn out and animated perfectly. One thing I loved about the graphics are the suits for Miles and their appearances. One in particular that I loved is the Miles Morales 2099 suit. The hood and the way they made his eyes on the suit glow are very cool features. In comparison to the previous two games, the graphics and attention to detail on this one are on a whole other level. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an extraordinary and revolutionary video game. The game has been hyped up, and people have been excited for its release since the beginning of 2022, and it did not disappoint at all. The visually pleasing game has brought joy and pleasure to many game lovers across the world and will continue to in the future.
