Students all over CVHS are buzzing over the upcoming homecoming dance scheduled for September 28th. With over 700 people expected to attend the even on Saturday, this homecoming dance is sure be a hit!
The theme this year is based on the movie Inside Out, according to the CV Student Council social media page. When asked about the reason behind this theme, the president of Student Council, Natalie Hopta (12), responded, “We try to find something new and relevant to pop culture each year.”
The excited atmosphere in the Student Council room was contagious in the week leading up to the event. Students were coming and going like busy bees. English teacher Mr. Jesse Shenk, the advisor of Student Council, commented, “They are working really hard. They had two weeks less than usual, and they have been on top of it.”
Student Council treasurer Charlotte Eby (12) explained how Student Council funds the event through ticket sales and added, “It’s tough managing thousands of dollars, but I do it.”
It’s safe to say that students all over the school share their enthusiasm for the dance. Cullen Bossert, senior, says, “I’m very hyped to dance in the big circle!”
It seems most of the students plan to spend their time in the Rill Gymnasium, where the main dance room will be. A variety of alternative activities are offered in other areas. Just remember to stay safe and be wise during and after the dance!
