Labyrinth is a Jim Henson film that was created in 1986. The film is about a girl who is heavily involved with her imagination. Sarah, who is played by Jenifer Connelly, ends up having to go through the labyrinth to save her brother from the Goblin King, who is played by the singer David Bowie. The movie also has puppeteer work by Jim Henson.
Honestly, this movie is a really good piece of art. It has a lot of little details in it, and does a really good job showing another world that was created in the main character’s mind. This is because the artists spent a lot of time making each detail as perfect as they could. They did a really good job with the limited amount of animation that they could use back in this time frame when the movie was created.
The movie was as good of a quality as The Dark Crystal, another Jim Henson production that is a good watch. Some of the good things about Labyrinth are how realistic everything looked and the realistic detailing of the world. There were a little bit of not so good things in this movie too. The puppets that are used can be seen as creepy, and David Bowie’s character can be seen as scary too, but other than those things this is a great movie!
To celebrate the movie’s 40th year anniversary since its release date, cinemas played the movie in theaters across the world on January 8th through 11th 2026. People should watch this movie for its good quality and story-telling skills. And be on the lookout for more – Fathom Entertainment, the company, is remaking the movie with help from Brian Henson, the son of Jim Henson, the famous puppeteer.
