Conestoga Valley High School’s Student Council started preparations for this year’s Family Feud event being held at CV. The event raises excitement and fun towards the end of the school year and raises awareness for Mini-THON.

There has been a recent change to the date. Dr. Matthew Fox, the school principal, has worked with Student Council advisors to move the date back to Wednesday, March 18th, due to student actions.

However, this date could be changed again, or even cancelled entirely, depending on student behaviors.

As we get closer to the day of the event, Student Council finalizes teams, jobs, and props. Family Feud includes all CV students in the event throughout families competing, raising awareness for upcoming Mini-THON hosted by NHS, and involving students in the crowd for playing games.

Student Council advisor Ms. Jessica Cooper explained how preparations for the event are going: “We got our posters done, we’ve got teams set up, and soon enough we will be good to go.”

Mr. Jesse Shenk, another Student Council advisor, also spoke on the preparations saying, “We sent out polls. Now, Student Council is organizing ourselves for what jobs we are going to do during the actual event.”

As students go through the polls sent out, the questions and answers for the event are all from that poll. Shenk says his favorite part is watching the people answer the questions during the event. “They sometimes get annoyed but it makes it fun.”

Student Council member Alexis Herr (11) shared, “I can’t wait to see the costumes the families wear.” Every year families find ways to surprise students with their families’ themes.

During Family Feud, Student Council shares the stage with NHS to help share the fun of Mini-THON to students. This year, NHS is getting more love during the event. Ms. Cooper shared, “I love seeing NHS show off and celebrate Mini-THON.”

Mr. Shenk also showed excitement for Mini-THON. He said, “We are sharing that space with NHS to talk about Mini-THON, so I’m thrilled to give a little bit more time to focus on that.”
