The age-old question has come to play, when is it okay to start listening to Christmas music? To find out what CVHS thinks, I decided to poll 140 students using an online survey.
With the six options (All Year, October, November, After Thanksgiving, The week of Christmas, and I don’t listen to Christmas music) the results, expected yet shocking in certain areas, are in.
Listening after Thanksgiving, a common rule, came out on top, with 59% of students choosing it. As expected, the next highest is during the month of November with 16% of students favoring the turkey month. Shockingly, the third-place winner is All Year, meaning that 16% of the students polled prefer to have a holly jolly January through December. These students may take down their trees, but their Christmas spirit lives 24/7, 365 days a year.
Taking fourth place are the people who do not listen to Christmas music. These students who celebrate a different holiday or just choose to stay off the radios make up 13% of the 140 polled. People who listen to Christmas music late in December during the week of Christmas come in fifth place with a whopping 5%. Finally, only 2% of students listen to Christmas tunes in the spooky month of October.
While this controversy will continue for years to come, as of right now…
