On September 16, 2023, Conestoga Valley High School marching band hosted their first competition. Their 2023 show is called “In The Grid,” taking place in a digital world. Other schools that came to compete were Susquehannock, Cumberland Valley, Red Lion, Littlestown, York Catholic, and Donegal.

Students who are part of the marching band began rehearsal at 9 in the morning and worked on their performance until 2 in the afternoon. Then all the students helped set up the concession stands and the stadium.

Band director Aaron Magaro expressed optimism for this performance and his support for all the students who put in so much effort, saying, “I felt good about the home show performance. We had the opportunity to put on a large amount of the show while achieving a high level of performance.”

Musician Carl Long (12) said, “By far our best performance, really excited for the rest of the season.” Junior Liam Quam added, “Performance-wise, it was pretty good.”

The band’s next competition won’t be until September 30th at Eastern York. The next ones after that are on October 21st at Conestoga, October 28th at Manheim Central, and the November 4th championship at Warwick. So look forward to their next performance as they take the field in exhibition.
