The stakes could not be higher this Monday April 20 at 6:00 PM as Conestoga Valley hosts Warwick in a high-stakes showdown for the girls’ track and field title. While Warwick arrives with the momentum of an undefeated season, the CV squad is prepared to give everything to defend their home track and seize the top spot.

The evening carries extra emotional weight as Conestoga Valley celebrates Senior Night, leaving the team determined to deliver a victory for their departing leaders. Every athlete has been pushed to the limit in training, knowing that this single meet defines their season.

“It’ll come from depth, from girls stepping up in every event, and from fighting for every single point,” stated head coach Abigail Way. Coach Way, who oversees the throwing events, remains highly determined and maintains full faith in the team’s ability to battle for every inch.

Success on the track often comes down to individual specialists performing under pressure. In the running events, athletes spend months of grueling training just to shave a fraction of a second off their times in pursuit of a new personal record.

“If I were to PR, I would have broken my own school record, qualified for districts, and nationals!” said Nyeoni Johnson (11). Known as “Nye” to her teammates, Johnson stands as one of the most driven competitors on the roster, pushing herself and her teammates toward the success they have long deserved.

While many meets are decided by the final relay, the foundation for victory is built in the opening events. The throwers provide the initial spark, working tirelessly in the field to give Conestoga Valley an early advantage in the scoring.

Acacia Pagano-Green (10) noted the mental toughness required for the field events, stating, “Throwing can be very hard and emotional at times but the girls have worked extremely hard and I have no doubt about the performance they will bring to the field on Monday.”
