The Stormers Opening Night

On Friday, 24 April 2026, the Lancaster Stormers held their opening night at the Penn Medicine Park (formerly known as the Clipper Magazine Stadium). Despite a rainy night and a loss by the Stormers, the atmosphere of the park remained joyful through the crowds, food vendors, music and events.

Crowds gather at  opening of the Penn Medicine Park on the north side of Lancaster city at 5:34 PM. Members of a CV elementary school baseball team, including Ignacio Storer Rios, can be seen near the center of the image.

Under the cloudy, drizzly sky, fans of the Lancaster Stormers and school baseball players were invited onto the field to meet the members of the Stormers team. Many different school districts, like CV and Donegal, were represented in the crowd. A formal introduction of each of the Stormers players and the pledge of allegiance was conducted shortly after, as well as the start of the game.

The minutes-long closing firework show and spectacular finale around 10pm help set the mood for the end of fans’ time at Penn Medicine Park, even if the game didn’t go well for the Stormers. The crowds could be heard “wow”-ing during the show and clapping as it ended.
