On May 2nd, 2026, the annual Conestoga Valley prom took place at Eden Resorts and Suites in Lancaster, PA. Leading up to this event, many students were ecstatic. From getting outfits prepared 2-3 months before prom even beginning, to going out the week of and getting manicures and pedicures, everyone ensured that they shined their brightest..
Hillary Rojas (11) said, “Honestly I would [attend prom again next year]. It was a really fun experience to be with the upperclassmen and being able to enjoy the time with the graduating class.”
Not everyone had such a rosy experience.
Junior Allison Diaz Turvid stated, “At prom, the food was awful! It was steak I believe – that was gray, pink, and hard as well as the macaroni and cheese had no cheese in sight.” The junior’s overall opinion was that the event was fun, but the food was disgusting.

Seniors agreed. Isabelle Gehr said that her favorite part about prom was being able to attend it with friends, and her least favorite was the food they had, as well as the music that they were playing. Her suggestions for next year’s prom were practically the same, stating that they definitely need to have better food options, since there was “chicken and steak that was very bland.” She also said that there needed to be better songs playing.
Similarly, Faith Kneisley (12) stated that for next year, they should “play the song requests because they didn’t play any of them.” Faith added that she didn’t dress up for this year’s prom theme, saying “no one does that, honestly.”
Lastly, Emmanuela Germain, a senior graduating in 2026, shared a very positive experience. She attended prom and said she did not regret it at all, even though she went without a boyfriend. Emma explained that she had a great time with her friends and enjoyed every moment of the night, making it a memorable experience for her.
Not all upperclassmen chose to attend prom. Mohammed Alkhrouf (12) explained that he does not enjoy large gatherings or crowded events, which is why he chose not to attend prom this year. He also mentioned that he is still unsure about attending next year, depending on how he feels and the influence of his friends.
